Blockchain Rio 2025: Driving Smart Regulatory Frameworks in the Age of Digital Assets

August 8, 2025
From August 5–7 in the city of Rio, Brazil, a keynote was delivered at the iconic Blockchain Rio event, under the theme: “Forging the Future: Regulatory Approaches to Digital Assets in Brazil, Argentina, and El Salvador,” featuring Juan Carlos Reyes, Executive Director of the National Commission of Digital Assets (CNAD) of El Salvador; Otto Lobo, Acting President of the Securities and Exchange Commission (CVM) of Brazil; and Nicole Dyskant, Co-founder of Compliasset.

Globally, we are recognized as leaders in regulatory matters. In the words of Juan Carlos Reyes:
“Getting a license in El Salvador is like graduating from Harvard—only the best succeed.”
This makes us unique and allows us to set a precedent in digital asset regulations, while also strengthening ties with countries that want to follow our approach.

In a second appearance by our president, this time with Roberto Silva, head of Argentina’s National Securities Commission (CNV), it was important to highlight that while Brazil has made great strides in financial technology, regulations around digital assets have yet to take off. As a result, Brazil is not fully leveraging its vast potential in this area. Events like Blockchain Rio position the country—and its guests—as one of the most influential platforms in Latin America, fostering critical dialogue and collaboration.
