CNAD Leads the Charge Against Financial Crimes in El Salvador in Second Digital Ecosystem Meeting

San Salvador, April 22, 2024.- The National Commission of Digital Assets (CNAD) in El Salvador is intensifying its efforts to combat financial crimes, particularly focusing on the prevention of terrorist financing within the digital assets sector. In a recent initiative, CNAD conducted specialized training aimed at enhancing cybersecurity and regulatory compliance.

The training session, held during CNAD’s second Digital Ecosystem Meeting, brought together key stakeholders including representatives from the Financial Investigation Unit (FIU), the Attorney General’s Office of the Republic of El Salvador, and CNAD’s own directors. The agenda was packed with impactful sessions aimed at sharing insights and best practices to detect, prevent, and respond effectively to illicit financial activities, especially those related to terrorist financing.

The training covered a range of critical topics, including compliance requirements, risk mitigation strategies, and the use of technology in combating financial crimes. Interactive workshops and case studies moderated by CNAD’s directors, provided participants with practical knowledge and tools for identifying suspicious activities and ensuring compliance with anti-money laundering (AML) regulations.
