This memorandum will help strengthen the policies and controls of authorities in the areas of anti-money laundering, counter-terrorism financing, and the financing of the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.

On April 4, our President Juan Carlos Reyes, together with the Director of the Financial Information and Analysis Unit (UIAF), Luis Eduardo Llinás Chica, signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at facilitating the exchange of best practices and experiences for the regulation of Digital or Virtual Asset Service Providers.

The regulatory work carried out by CNAD positions El Salvador as a leader and pioneer in the digital asset ecosystem. With the support of our country, Colombia seeks to promote legal certainty by establishing rules that protect users in the digital asset market and ensure consumers have access to clear information.
Colombia joins other countries in the region, such as Brazil and Chile, that are advancing in the regulation of digital assets. One of UIAF’s missions is to detect and identify national and transnational money laundering and terrorist financing networks, as well as corruption networks that infiltrate state control.
In the words of our President Juan Carlos Reyes:
“El Salvador continues to share its path and success in the field of digital assets, strengthening international alliances to build a more connected and transparent future.”
